Kurt Vonnegut

[edit]

"The title of the album is a reference to Billy Pilgrim's epitaph in Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse-Five." Kurt Vonnegut's wikiquote says that it was from God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian, and that there is no "and". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.91.97.210 (talk) 02:16, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the phrase appeared in both works. In "Slaughterhouse," it had the "and", so if the album's title has the "and," the current reference is probably the more correct one. 99.235.142.71 (talk) 18:00, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reference-able explanation anywhere on why a religiously-oriented band would name themselves in reference to the work of a famous secular humanist? It would be an interesting bit of info, I think. 99.235.142.71 (talk) 18:03, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mention of this title in another discussion

[edit]

The Hate Me!Hate Me! (Children of Bodom song) discussion at Talk:Hate Me!#Requested move 31 December 2017 has repeatedly mentioned this title alongside Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt (Moby album) as an example of the effect that accents, diacritics, symbols or punctuation have upon the decision to append a parenthetical qualifier in furtherance of distinct disambiguation. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 22:15, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
