new article

[edit]
  • I started that article, since E.I. Galperin was quite relevant for the development of borehole geophysics, multicomponent exploration seismology and, of course, the introduction of the symmetric triaxial seismometer design. That design is even named after him, so notability should be given.
  • I found his bio on a Russian website. Hard to find 'reliable' sources... https://www.jewmil.com/biografii/item/948-galperin-evsej-iosifovich Not sure if that counts.
  • There is also a photograph of him, would be nice to include it. As a wiki-greenhorn, I am careful with including figures (copyrights, ...). Maybe somebody can support?
  • I addded a short paragraph on the Galperin configuration. Maybe it does not fit into a bio, but otherwise, it would probably just end up as a short stub.
  • I would like to add an illustration showing the Galperin configuration schematically. I published such a figure a couple of years ago in GEOPHYSICS (peer-review journal). It seems that I can publish one figure out of that without permission, since the journal follows the STM guidlines (https://www.stm-assoc.org/intellectual-property/permissions/permissions-guidelines/). However, I would modify the figure a bit. If somebody experienced knows how to deal with such issues: help is more than appreciated.
  • I could not find Galperin's original work from 1955 so far. Everybody working with his configuration it is citing it, but the publication seems untraceable. If anybody knows a version (Russian/Translation) - would be great!

You may want to try someone listed at WP:TRLA for a translator and post a request on their talk page. I would check their contributions to see if they are still active. S0091 (talk) 20:34, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
