Should there be some bit about the common executioner stereotype of wearing a mask to prevent identification and possible reprisals ? --80.222.74.129 15:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
al-Beshi
[edit]The al-Beshi family has provided the executioners for the Saud family since before the establishment of Saudi Arabia. Of course the current executioner gave an interview for the Arab News, but I had one of his sons in my class. Nice guy. He reports that each job pays SAR5,000, plus free airfare, plus the sword he uses is a gift from the government. I would have mentioned all this, but there is no obvious place to put it in the discussion of French families of executioners. Paul, in Saudi 04:59, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Modern Executioners?
[edit]I know mostly from pop culture that modern executioners are jailers or other law enforcement officers who are chosen by volunteering or by lot, is there any information that can be added to this article on that? Or is it just pop culture? BaikinMan 17:44, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
