Thanks. The idea appears to have been born that year but the first exhibition did not open until 1987.

In need of sources to refer to the trustees. The executive was Iann Barron and chair was George Ferguson (politician). I'm looking for press/photos from 1987-99. As the country's first hands-on science centre this article shouldn't be rated low importance imo. The Exploratory was Bristol's second largest visitor attraction.
