The Azores are closer to Europe than to North America by 2/3. Therefore the Azores are part of Europe. On the contrary, Iceland has a shorter distance by sea to North America than to Europe. Iceland is much closer to Greenland which is North America. Geographically then, Iceland belongs to North America.
