I removed the extlink to * David Johnson's Reconstructions dot org as I didn't see its relevance to the article except for some personal dispute as to the ownership of the name 'Eyebeam Atelier.' Cory Arcangel was listed twice in the list of notable artists & reseachers. I removed the redundancy.

Constant personal dispute over the History of Eyebeam[edit]

Deleted photo of Eyebeam[edit]

I believe I know the author of the "Eyebeam kr.jpg" image that was just removed, or can find someone who has taken a similiar photo that will be happy to license freely. Was the issue that the image didn't have any license info? --Jamiew (talk) 16:13, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The image was CC licensed, but not free enough. I replaced the image with one I took recently that I put in wiki commons and licensed in the public domain. --Dronthego (talk) 19:59, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni List[edit]

I was on the Eyebeam page today to check for something, and noticed that the Alumni have been removed. User:Sionk who made the edits noted in their edit comments that "most articles don't mention Eyebeam and, in any case, it isn't a college!" Eyebeam refers to its past residents and fellows as alumni, and in some ways is like a post-graduate research institute. This is common with other residencies: Skowhegan does the same, and is noted as such on wiki. It is the equivalent of "notable recipients" or some equivalent list/category. It is important to have a list. I agree that the giant list full of redlinks was not productive. Maybe it should be a category? What do you think User:Dronthego? I know you have worked on this page in the past, and have recently created a category for the Category:San Francisco Art Institute alumni as it was too many to fit on the page, and you couldn't make distinctions on who was more notable than others. Bottom line is that a list should be on wiki, though what form it takes is open. Furthermore, Sionk noted that the articles don't mention Eyebeam: they should. That is clearly a discrete task that should be done: add a note under awards/residencies for each page saying they were a resident or fellow at Eyebeam.--Theredproject (talk) 18:41, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see anywhere on Eyebeam's website that mentions alumni. They certainly mention 'fellows' (whatever that means) and 'resident artists'. Maybe, if anything, the lists need to be more specific if they are to be recreated? Sionk (talk) 19:24, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What would probably be most "future proof" would be to create a category. As alumni accumulate, figuring out who is on the short list will be an issue. I've seen it happen on the SFAI page and people get testy! One could incorporate specific artists into the paragraphs of text above so there will be *some* names. That's what I think. I came to this page specifically to find notable alumni (after seeing a reference to the founder of buzzfeed being an alum (Not true, but I came here to verify). Also the History section is rather clunky as is from all the names.
