Split article

[edit]

Does anyone else think it's time to split off the table as its own article, something like "List of stations which have used the Eyewitness News title" or something along those lines?

I think we should split the Eyewitness News Music segment from the main article. Does anyone concur?

Split the Article

[edit]

I for one agree with this. This Portion should be Split into one article. Highly because the News Music Package has been Highly used and it's highly in a different kind of field as it comes with a full newscast and the stations that used the moniker. The full newscast article and the music needs to be split!!!!

Format or Brand?

[edit]

From my own experience and from this article there seems to be little written and nothing cited that accurately describes 'Eyewitness News' as an unique format. Unless someone can provide maybe some cited sources that would better describe what makes 'Eyewitness News' a format different from other local news programs, I guess I'd be inclined to consider this more a brand than anything else. I agree; I can't think of any news programme in the world that doesn't use the format described in the article; nor can I find anything unique about it or the difference between other descibed formats, such as "Action News". I also don't necessarily see a correlation between the use of the moniker "Eyewitness News" and the Frank Gari music package. I also don't see how that list is very useful. Something needs to change, or the writers of the article need to tell me what I'm missing here. --Char645 (talk) 07:24, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Entire 1st graph of Expansion section is incorrect

[edit]

I don't know where this was sourced, but it's all wrong in every respect. I know because I worked there and there are dozens of people who did too who can supply accurate information.Link2dan (talk) 14:21, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hopelessness be my friend. Eyewitness motto

[edit]

At about five to nine this morning, I switched on CapeTalk …. having seen sky, heard VOA & BBC. Thought I was going to get ‘parliament on fire’ info from the coal face from the channel that was the closest of all to the incident. Pre-news banter….. News at nine. Lead story was what Ramaposa said yesterday at Tutu’s funeral! Even some mention of a recent fire in Colorado and a update on how things were going in Denver …. more banter till I could stomach it no longer ….. at about twenty five past nine I switched to BBC radio news to find out how things were going in Cape Town ! Absolutely no mention of a fire in Cape Town ! A news disservice 192.143.136.104 (talk) 13:20, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
