Untitled[edit]

Some notes about my edits.

1) I'm not sure how close the ties to Grossdeutschland are, Tessin certainly only mentions one relation, that is that upon expansion to Division, Führer-Begleit received II/Panzer Regiment Grossdeutschland as it's own II/Panzer Regiment 102. Before that the Führer-Begleit-Brigade had drawn replacements from Grossdeutschland's Ersatz battalion.

2) Rommel's biography beyond the short time he commanded the FBB does not belong into this article.

3) No need to glorify the FB as an elite unit as that doesn't seem to be warranted from it's operational history. Though it's certainly true that it was seen as elite by Hitler and co.

4) The original article had no sources. My additions are all based on Tessin, mostly volume 14.

Spelling[edit]

In correct German spelling it is "Führerbegleitbrigade" (or, incorrect but likely "Führer-Begleitbrigade"), "Führerbegleitbattalion", "Führerbegleitdivision" and "Führerbegleitabteilung, Panzergrenadierdivision "Großdeutschland"". Please move this page and correct the errors! Thanks!--141.20.12.59 (talk) 07:57, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nicht akzeptiert. This is the English wikipedia. Your quoted words would have to be rendered in italics more so than the current title. Anyway, as you surmise, the German spelling reform of 1998 (and those possibly yet to come) will probably eventually result in German becoming an analytic language (like English) rather than the (artificially)synthetic language it currently is (e.g. radfahren->Rad fahren). Anyway, it's easier on the eyes.1812ahill (talk) 20:11, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
