Capitulation with Nazis in Berlin

I just read the following text accompanying an old photograph (on reddit.com) and wondered if something should be added to the pages for F W Woolworth:-

Nazis singing to encourage a boycott of Jewish shops, 1933. Four Nazi troops sing in front of the Berlin branch of the Woolworth Co. store during the movement to boycott Jewish presence in Germany, March 1, 1933. Within days of taking power, the Nazis called for Germany to boycott all Jewish businesses. This surprised many people as they had not expected the Nazis to act of their anti-Jewish ideas. This is the start of years of anti-Jewish propaganda. Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels arranged for a boycott of Jewish-owned businesses. He would later explain in an April 1 speech at the Berlin Lustgarten that the boycott was in retaliation for anti-German “atrocity propaganda” spread by the “international Jewry” in foreign newspapers. The shop in the photo was owned by Woolworth, the company later fired all Jewish employees and got the “Adefa Zeichen”, a seal for companies who where “pure Aryan”.

Im March of 1932 the newspaper Vossische Zeitung reported that Woolworth gave several money donations to the Nazi party [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.192.144.157 (talk) 15:15, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Woolworth's did not collapse

Woolworth's did not collapse. What happened was Woolworth Corp. made the decision that the variety store division, F.W. Woolworth Co., was a drag on earnings, that the variety store era was over and that it would be best for the corporation to get out of the variety store business. Thus Woolworth Corp. shut down all their remaining Woolworth stores and chose to concentrate on their more profitable specialty store business. The variety stores did not collapse, it was an orderly business decision by management to leave a business segment. Woolworth Corp. still exists as Footlocker Corp. (same holding company, new name). There was no bankruptcy, reorganization, no "collapse". 2601:85:C001:FB9B:DC8F:1488:1DAD:58FC (talk) 01:50, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
