Terrorist versus alleged terrorist[edit]

Please be scrupulous, if you are editing this article, in identifying which of the individuals described have been formally accused (indicted) or convicted of terrorism-related crimes. You should also note if possible whether charges have been brought in the United States or elsewhere; the procedures for conviction in an American civilian court, in an American military tribunal, or in a country such as Yemen or Saudi Arabia are all very different.

Because many of these people are still living, and because these charges are of course very serious, a high standard of conduct should regulate the tone and content of this article. Stating or implying that an individual is a terrorist here, when they are merely suspected of terrorism but have not been accused, tried or convicted, is obviously problematic.

Lastly, this article should be properly sourced. I've been making some changes to tone and removing unsourced assertions, but the article would benefit from new sources. Will work on this when I've time. -Darouet (talk) 19:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
