"Fuck Fuck Shit"[edit]

Hey Ghakko, what's wrong with fuck fuck shit? Looks good to me. -- Sveden 16:25, 21 July 2005 (UTC)

Actually, I think you're right. I'll add it back in. Sorry for the knee-jerk reaction. Ghakko 04:55, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

'Friendly Fire Soldier' is surely made-up. It only appears in mirrors of this page and should be removed unless an independent reference can be provided. 81.79.191.138 08:54, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It means FOR FUCK SAKE

Shouldn't it use the possessive form: "For fuck's sake"?

Fast Fourier transform[edit]

@Llew Mawr you reverted my edit adding Fast Fourier transform, saying "Please add "FFS" as an alternative 'initialism' in Fast Fourier transform with a source before re-adding here". None of the other items on this page meet your requirements, so shall we just remove them all? FFS is a common initialism for Fast Fourier transform, so much so, that it is the first thing that shows up when you google FFS. I don't see why it shouldn't be on this page. - Rooiratel (talk) 07:54, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rooiratel, have a look at MOS:DABACRO. There is no mention of the initialism in the target article, and in addition it's not an obvious abbreviation, so it needs to be added in the target article, with a citation and explanation of what the "S" stands for. Wikipedia relies on its own citations to reliable sources, not additional googling. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 09:13, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, I made a typo when going to this page, it is supposed to be FFT not FFS. I didn't notice that I was on the wrong page, and was writing "FFS" because I was just copying what I was seeing here in the discussion. The actual FFT page already redirects to Fast Fourier transform. - Rooiratel (talk) 10:12, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Rooiratel Forgive my scepticism. In that case, do you have a link/reference to a source using "FFS" in that way?
That's not what I'm getting on the first few Google SERPs. But I did find "fuzzy Fourier system (FFS)", "Fast Fourier Sampling (FFS)", "Finite Fourier Series (FFS)" and "fast Fourier synthesis (FFS)". But I'm trying to work out if there's an apt target article or section to add those as entries.
FWIW, I did search for "FFS" in the other Wikipedia articles with entries on this page and all but one does mention "FFS" (albeit in one case only in the references). I might add it to the lede of the article to resolve that breach of the policy WP:DABACRONYM They also do start with those initial letters. Llew Mawr (talk) 11:16, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
