Lore[edit]

If there is a book or newspaper article that has documented thses stories, please add the reference to the book and put the stories back up. Otherwise these tales don't belong in an encyclopedia. Clerks. (talk) 15:01, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

People[edit]

I've twice removed a one-paragraph "People" section added by an IP editor. Some of this is trivial or unclear (the "designated heritage" sentence); some has been addressed earlier in the article (Fairbury, Illinois); and some is controversial (the business about the "ethnic Nebraskan" character). No source is cited for anything in the paragraph. See WP:V, in particular WP:BURDEN, for Wikipedia policy regarding unsourced material. See also the guidelines for articles on U.S. cities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline; note that there's no place for a section such as this, although a documented statement about the predominant ethnicity of the residents might reasonably fit into the "History" section.
