Unaccredited is not equal to diploma mill[edit]

Unaccredited degrees and not necessarily the equivalent of a diploma mill degree. They may be accredited by non tradional accreditation boards. The degrees are earned with course work and in the case of Ph.D's, a dissertation. Admittedly, they are not as rigorous as regular univeristies, and are not useful if one needs a professional license, but they shold have their place, not all treated the same and it is work noting that they were the ones who pushed most accredited colleges to becoming more reasitic about the demands of working adults who could not take time off to attend classes and needed a more flexible alternative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.66.118.88 (talkcontribs) 19:22, 15 October 2008

John Bear[edit]

No one thought to inclued the name John Bear in the article?....He was one who started this school!--Super (talk) 23:43, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to Bears' Guide, John Bear broke off association with Fairfax back in 1986 two months after the first students started. That seems to be a far cry from your claim that he is the "one who started this school"? My opinion is that John Bear is not nearly famous enough to warrant mention for such a small role in Fairfax history. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your proposal though? I get what you are saying, but I don't think using his own works as a source is all that good. I think the most famous anti degree mill spokes person and expert in the field, owning and founding mills is of importance, I might be wrong.--Super (talk) 00:56, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I added a sentence mentioning that he was one of the founders. I think his own book provides sufficient support for that statement. --Orlady (talk) 01:26, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am happy with that...Looks good and is only right that he is in there. Thanks Orlady, now to see if he is listed in the articles about his two other schools.--Super (talk) 06:46, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Without reference to the details of Bear's break with this institution, the line referring to him as a founder is highly misleading. I have removed the line. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.117.171.207 (talk) 19:21, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
