OK[edit]

Kelseacumbie, obviously you need text and more sources. Unfortunately you also, like too many of your classmates, picked something/someone that a. is fairly new and thus there will be nothing in Google Books or scholarly articles, and b. is relatively marginal in notability. Anyhow, here is another article, but mind that you don't copy/emulate the non-neutral language. Stay objective. Here's something, and here. If you can get 1500 words out of it you might have a nice DYK. Dr Aaij (talk) 03:07, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Kelseacumbie Dr Aaij

As happens to me occasionally, an editor doesn't check Wikipedia:Notability for specific guidelines, in this case Sports. Rodeo is not usually thought of as being highly notable to many. However, world championships at the National Finals Rodeo are considered notable. Fallon Taylor meets notability per WP:NRODEO. Only 8 individuals per year achieve this honor, and only 1 barrel racer per year achieves it.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association holds its finals, the National Finals Rodeo at the end of every year and elects champions in each of its events. Fallon Taylor is a World Barrel Racing Champion, so per this guideline she meets the definition. dawnleelynn(talk) 21:43, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • User:dawnleelynn, thank you for your note. I didn't really doubt her notability, since I figured that those National Finals would be good enough, but I appreciate the confirmation. Dr Aaij (talk) 23:06, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dr Aaij Thank you for your reply, and that's good to hear. I hope I didn't come across as overly brusque. As a coincidence, the 2018 NFR is taking place now. Tonight is the third go-around of a ten day finals. Fallon isn't in the finals this year. I don't know if she competed or not, actually. And, let me know if I can help with this article at any time. I've done four barrel racing articles now. I mostly do rodeo articles. Happy Trails! dawnleelynn(talk) 23:18, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
