Fair use rationale for Image:PuddleOfMudd-Famous.jpg[edit]

Image:PuddleOfMudd-Famous.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Neutrality[edit]

History[edit]

There are multiple issues with this section that need to be dealt with before we can form it into something coherently informative. First off, here's the paragraph:

History
In early 2007, the album was in finishing stages with producer Bill Stevenson. In its hiatus, the band had written 60 to 70 songs, eventually narrowing it down to just a few tracks. Originally, the album was due out in July with the title, Living on Borrowed Time.[1] However, by the time of the final release the title had been changed by an unidentified person to that of the lead single.[2] A decision singer Scantlin didn't care for. He later denied this saying, "I didn't really care. I was just like 'as long as it comes out, name it whatever you want man.'" In early 2007 the album was in finishing stages with producer Bill Stevenson. But at the suggestion of some advisers, outside writers and arrangers were brought in to help with album production. This because of record company advisers, who due to file sharing and poor album sales in general, "want to take no chances," as the bands bassist put it in one interview.[3] As of 2009, Scantlin felt the album was fine in its initial finished stage and regrets the changes that were made and somewhat dislikes the final release.[4]


  • We have the opening sentence in here twice, for no apparent reason.

In early 2007, the album was in finishing stages with producer Bill Stevenson.

This would seem to indicate that someone found the section to be lacking, and tried to fill it out more by pasting info from an old revision. While the second half seems to contain some different information, it comes abruptly and without any logical segue. Probably should be a new paragraph, if more information can be found to help clarify. I would take quite a bit of restructuring to merge it into the current paragraph, and even that would depend on whether any of it is pertinent enough for inclusion.


  • "History" seems an inaccurate header for the section, considering the album in is only a few years old, and has had virtually no musically historical impact, outside of the band's catalogue. I would propose "Production" as a more fitting header, but I'll take look at more album pages before making that change on my own.


  • This particular paragraph uses YouTube videos as a cited source 3 times. Now, I may be a bit rusty on this part, but it seems to me that a YouTube video is not exactly on the level of a valid source. I would expect that if these interviews are on YouTube, then they probably would have appeared on the website of the interviewer first. If that is the case, then I would suspect a transcript would have been posted alongside, which would more likely be considered a verifiable source. If I am mistaken here, please mark this point out and disregard.


  • Lack of citations and/or quotes for non-neutral statements.

A decision singer Scantlin didn't care for.

As of 2009, Scantlin felt the album was fine in its initial finished stage and regrets the changes that were made and somewhat dislikes the final release.
