Lead section[edit]

This article needs a lead section; the content of the article refers to the idea of a "flourish of horn music", and the alternate definitions either belong on Wiktionary or in separate articles linked from the disambiguation page. Pnswmr (talk) 22:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Music example[edit]

I don't think the music example chosen as an illustration ("Over the Northern Mountains" by Mattias Westlund) qualifies as a fanfare. In a typical fanfare the melody is carried by trumpets. This fantasy piece has a whole virtual symphony orchestra. Even disregarding the instrumentation, it does not have the feel of a fanfare. --Lambiam 08:26, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
