NPOV dispute[edit]

"Abdullah was a novice in the political arena of Jammu and Kashmir when he was appointed president of the National Conference in August 1981. His main qualification was that he was the son and heir of Sheikh Abdullah" - this appears to be a personal reflection. Even if this was actually true, it is difficult to verify it, unless a suitable source can be found. Ranban282 (talk) 13:26, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up and additional information[edit]

I have, to an extent, cleaned up the article, and broken it up into sections. However, more information is needed on his Chief Ministerial tenure, and the cub-sections in his political career need to be further broken up. Ranban282 (talk) 14:02, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality[edit]

Forooq Abdullah is a Kashmiri not Indian. If you can call Arafat an Israili politician, then you may call Farooq Abdullah an Indian one. Ahangarha (talk) 11:34, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ahangarha, Wikipedia is not created by touting personal opinions like this. The Articles on Indian citizenship in the Indian constitution apply to Jammu and Kashmir. All the erstwhile state subjects of Jammu and Kashmir, and their descendants, are Indian citizens. See the page on Article 35A of the Constitution of India. I would appreciate if you can self-revert your edit. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:30, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ahangarha, here is the place for you to respond. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:05, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kautilya3, I am sorry for this. I was new in participating in "talk" on pages. Will follow guidelines. Yet, I keep my stand as it is not a personal opinion, but it is the matter of a nation identity which is being systemically denied. I hope we find a solution for it. Wikipedia shouldn't become a blog for sharing personal opinion, but also shouldn't become another propaganda tool in hand of powers who already have power to do what they want. -- Ahangarha (talk) 00:40, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is written based on reliable sources. Making arguments based on personal views is a waste of time. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:08, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Hindu Genocide in Kashmir[edit]

Kautilya3 After using credible references, the paragraph was added on 'The Hindu Genocide' on the page but was removed. Additionally would like to clarify that I did not revert it back 'multiple times' - just once since no reason was given for removal.

Would like to know the reason for removal, so I can contribute better. Also, if you can remove the ARBIPA sanctions alert, since there were credible references hence the revert. Would appreciate if you can share some guidelines in such cases. Vishwasthakkar (talk) 08:46, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I notice that you were reinstating somebody else's content. But when you do so, it becomes your responsibility. So you need to be sure the content is prorper, especially when it was already reverted once.
There were many things that were wrong with the content.
  • WP:NEWSORG are only reliable for news, but the content is citing it for history.
  • Some of them are opinion columns, which can only be attributed. Some of the content is also putting in Wikipedia voice, somebody's opinions (as if they are a fact). See WP:YESPOV.
  • Northlines is not an established newspaper.
  • Most of all, whether the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus is a "genocide" is a contentious issue. You need to consult that page and its talk page, also The Kashmir Files for how Wikipedians are treating the issue.
You received an ARBIPA alert because you are dealing with a contentious topic. You need to be aware of all the relevant Wikipedia policies and apply them. Otherwise, you can stay away from such topics. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:49, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
