Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because I still have many edits to make. I do not understand the contention that this is a small, local convention, when cons in the area which are comparable in size, and even smaller, have uncontested entries: MystiCon, Balticon, MarsCon. There are many cons smaller than Farpoint, which are listed.

Furthermore, Farpoint has a long history in science fiction fandom, going back to 1984 when it was known as ClipperCon, and then OktoberTrek. The con has been an important contributor to fan history.

I very much want to comply with your guidelines in constructing this article. I will review the policies more closely and make every attempt to comply with them. I am currently pulling together third-party references, including coverage by the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Magazine, TV Guide and several online resources.

I will conform to any suggestions you offer, but please do not delete my article. I cannot improve it if it goes away. Sarofynn (talk) 16:42, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, you have seven days in which to add the sources that you mentioned and continue editing the article. - MrX 16:49, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
