'Variants' - Subway

In the variants section, the paragraph dealing with subway, is biased. Heirware (talk) 10:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

What about it is biased? --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 17:53, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Hm, I think it got edited. Nevermind. It was something like 'Subway has been a great success, showing how healthy foods can blah bla etc.' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heirware (talkcontribs) 05:32, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

History edits

I made a rehaul of the history section by dividing into more section. I rewrote the pre-modern information with the help of some appropriate print sources and I removed a bogus claim that kebab was imported to the UK during the Crusades. My recommendation is to avoid using online sources to write about food history as much as possible. They're usually tainted by old misconceptions and stereotypes and hardly ever support their claims with reliable sources.

Isn't it fast-food?!?! Sturm br (talk) 13:58, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Two-part question regarding Useless photo

I wonder why the photo captioned "Rejected Hamburger in fast food restaurant parking lot, Photo by Nathaniel Paluga" is in this article. It is near the health concerns section. Is it illustrating a customer who bought the food then found it inedible? Or was it rejected by the restaurant? It doesn't seem to add anything to the article.

On a related note, does anyone have the official policy on "Photo by XXXXXX"? It seems that Nathaniel Paluga has had all of his contributions cited this way, but I don't really see this anywhere else. Just seems kind of distracting —Preceding unsigned comment added by AndyHuston (talkcontribs) 17:35, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Doesnt Fit Here

I completly rewrot this sentence because in it's original form it looked like ait was written by a kid. But when I look at it some more the information just doesnt relly look like it fits. In a sense it is true. Nut not all fast food causes this. And this is caused by obesity overall. so should I keep it or remove it? it does have a citation needed tag anyways.

"Fast Food can also lead to health problems at both an old and a young age such as colon cancer, respiratory failure and Heart Attacks.[citation needed]"

so tell me your opinion.

It should be put in the health section because people should know that if they eat too much fast food they could get those diseases and stuff.Smartpotatoe (talk) 20:15, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

It is false as not all fast food is unhealthy. Remove it. --Jeremy (blah blah) 05:27, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Job's and labor issues rewrite

This section is written entirely from the perspective of franchise owners and executives. Needless to say it is extremely biased and ignores many of the negative labor practices that occur at fast food chains (low wages, no benefits, high turnover, non-unionized workers) as documented in Eric Schlosser's best selling book Fast Food Nation. This is notice that I will be rewriting it to provide a more inclusive viewpoint. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Orb4peace (talkcontribs) 04:47, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Go right ahead. It needs to be more balanced. --Jeremy (blah blah) 05:28, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Seconded. –Alika (talk) 06:14, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Fry cook

I was redirected here from "fry cook". The article, however, does not even contain that phrase.

I suggest that the article is expanded correspondingly or, preferably, the fry cook article is changed from a re-direct to its own article.

I have added the missing-tag for now. 88.77.186.94 (talk) 18:27, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Whomever created that redirect was ignorant of restaurants, that position is colloquially called a line cook or a chef de partie in more formal circles. There is a section in the chef article about that. I updated the redirect as needed, I also removed the tag you added. --Jeremy (blah blah) 18:53, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Fast Food Waste

I think we should add something in the article about the amount of trash restaurants throw away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. Dalbo (talkcontribs) 17:56, 19 October 2009 (UTC) Mr. Dalbo (talk) 18:02, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Fast food can be healthy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.62.149.156 (talk) 07:25, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Sometimes, but what does that have to do with what restaurants throw away? 204.113.71.2 (talk) 18:14, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Someone mind explaining this?

"For example, sanitation is crucial as is knowing how to act in a robbery situation."? --65.190.87.247 (talk) 05:15, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Is this any better. I must admit the way it was looked as if the employee was robbing someone. Enter CambridgeBayWeather, waits for audience applause, not a sausage 12:19, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Merged the Caesar Barber Article

I have merged the Caesar Barber article into Fast food, as per the consensus that was arrived at ten months ago. Safiel (talk) 01:48, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
