kk the article is longer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Little Spike (talkcontribs).

Second deadliest attack

[edit]

Despite what the BBC news report says, the second deadliest attack in Iraq after the 23 November 2006 Sadr City bombings was the Hillah bommbing on February 28 that killed 125 people (see [1]). Black Falcon 17:29, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the death toll has gone up -- never mind the above message. Black Falcon 19:38, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No kidding

Gallery?

[edit]

A section entitled "Gallery" in an article about a bombing seems at least dubious to me. 87.123.255.3 19:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I like the Gallery. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Little Spike (talkcontribs) 19:47, 3 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]
I expect that as the article grows over time, these images can/will be incorporated into relevant sections. I see no harm in leaving them in for now. Black Falcon 20:20, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Protecting this Page

[edit]

Can we please protect this page, because it has been vandalised several times and I keep having to revert his edits over and over again.--jsalims80 21:43, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can we get an admin to ban his IP? Its really annoying because there is a link on the front page

not good news

[edit]

What Happened?

[edit]

The article is all messed up! The picture is missing and countless other information. They also destroyed the photo gallery! Little Spike 01:06, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyways its fix now so forget about the above comment. Little Spike 01:07, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Death toll

[edit]

Most are reporting 128-130 now. Little Spike 01:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page title

[edit]

The title of the page has been changed from 3 February 2007 Baghdad market bombing to 2007 Baghdad market bombing per general convention. However, I do not believe it is appropriate to apply this convention here as there will probably be dozens of market bombings in Baghdad in 2007 (and there have already been some). It is necessary to predisambiguate. Cheers, Black Falcon 02:49, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was one of the editors who helped to get that convention made official at WP:DM, and I would agree that in this instance, disambiguation is necesary, and so, much though I hate it, the date must remain. Blood Red Sandman Open Up Your Heart - Receive My EviLove 07:34, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

YOU GUYS ARE SPELLING TONNE WRONG!

[edit]

The correct spelling is TONNE, now stop changing it back to ton!

Actually, all of the sources write "ton". Tonne is used in the metric system, whereas ton is part of the Imperial system. My personal opinions on the idiocy of the Imperial system notwithstanding, we should go by what the sources say. Cheers, Black Falcon 03:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

a few hundred people are dead and you worrying about a spelling!

If we are to be a news source we should learn to spell correctly :P

It doesn't matter!Little Spike 21:56, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It does matter because one of the spellings is factually inaccurate (this isn't simply a difference between British and American spelling). Black Falcon 23:17, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Screw you guys I'm going home =P
Even 'tonne' is much more commonly 'metric ton'
