Contested deletion[edit]

It would appear since the last deletion this player has now played competitively in the German Cup

Götze played in the DFB-Pokal (which features amateur sides) against TSV Steinbach Haiger, who play in the Regionalliga Südwest, which is not a WP:FPL. Therefore Götze still does not meet WP:NFOOTY. S.A. Julio (talk) 15:41, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As far as the speedy is concerned it is not a strict replica of the deleted article, but it contains new and current material. NFOOTY is not yet satisfied, but there is a chance that GNG might be. The player is creating a bit of media noise. My eye caught the strange editsummary of the article creation. Agathoclea (talk) 17:54, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I missed the part about the opponent also needing to be fully professional, but I don't think that the claim that he has no caps for a fully-professional club holds up, which was the assertion at the prior AfD, so I've declined the speedy request nonetheless.
