editorial concerns

[edit]

Please try not to insert prose that reads like advertising. The tone should be chosen to fit Wikipedia's policy that articles be neutral.

Sources generally should be reliable third-party independent secondary sources. Try to source statements accordingly. The journal's own self-statements may sometimes be used but only with more care than is required for most other sources. The recent removal of the only third-party secondary source to date means that the article has none, so I restored the text that had that sourcing. Feel free to edit it in accordance with Wikipedia policies. And feel free to add other reliable secondary third-party sources.

"Feminist studies" is also the name of a field of academic study. The article about the journal had a cross-reference to the article on women's studies, to help Wikipedia readers trying to find whichever they're looking for. I don't know why it was removed, so I put it back.

On first reference in the lede, the name that is also the article's title should be boldfaced, so I restored the boldfacing.

Links within the main text should be to other Wikipedia articles. When what is needed is a reference, the URL and/or other reference content for an outside source, including Feminist Studies' own website, should be set up as a reference. I did that to some links that recently appeared in the body, but those still are probably not adequate. They should be turned into sources of information that appears in the article or removed. You may wish to replace them with links to Wikipedia articles on the people/institutions named.

The lede itself is getting long relative to the rest of the article. Parts of the lede should be moved into the body.

Feminist Studies is a notable and important journal. Thank you for adding information about it. I wanted to avoid seeing the article tagged for reworking by various Wikipedia editors who may have less familiarity with the subject. If you have the time to become familiar with some of Wikipedia's editorial standards, you can stay ahead of the curve on these things. If the edits I plan to do per the above don't appear yet, it's probably because my computer time is up and I'll plan to do it the next time I log on, probably tomorrow. Thanks again.
