Undue weight?[edit]

Hello.

@Nonaupolitiquementcorrect: signaled me that they had some difficulties with this page, about the wording of the article provoking lesbian erasure. I am letting them developing their point.

But I notice that the article is weirdly weighted, which I think is not unrelated to the impression of lesbian erasure that Non' has about this article. If I check for example The SAGE Encyclopedia of LGBTQ Studies, a 3 whole pages are dedicated to the butch/femme dichotomy within the lesbian subculture, and only, at the end, a little paragraph saying that the words were appropriated by other sexual minorities. While here we have nearly has much text dedicated to the lesbian subculture and the non-lesbian appropriations. Traditional encyclopedia like the SAGE's one are limited in size when it comes to their handling of subjects, but still, the weight discrepancies between the two encyclopedias are quite outstanding. I notably notice that non-lesbian elements are mainly sourced by quite low-quality references (unlike some academic ones for the lesbian elements).

Ping @Blaze Wolf and Macaddct1984: who reverted Non', and also @EvergreenFir: who just reverted me (PS: for this last revert, if the expression "cultural appropriation" is an issue, why not not doing a simple reformulation instead of a whole revert?). —Lady freyja•°どうしたのかしら 18:57, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I merely reverted them because they removed content that was reliably sourced. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:31, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also reverted because it appeared as though they were removing cited content for a perceived "erasure of lesbian identity" POV. I certainly have zero expertise in the field. -- MacAddct1984 (talk | contribs) 12:24, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
