Notability
[edit]Of course it needs sources, and of course there there are sources avilable , multiple sources, probably by the thousand. This is a major character in a major work--to put it mildly. Get consensus before any change to a redirect. DGG (talk) 04:32, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
The Collector
[edit]The two main characters in the Collector by John Fowles are Miranda and Fred (Ferdinand). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.148.23.28 (talk) 11:08, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
Review of student's work
[edit]This is how the article looked before the recent student assignment: [1]. The student edits [2] seem to have only added some quotes, and as such, sadly, do not add any value to the article. In fact excessive quotations are discouraged by Wikipedia's manual of style (see Wikipedia:Quotations). This article needs expansion with regards to the character's significance as discussed by field of literary studies. Students wishing to improve this, rather than adding random quotes, should find scholarly works discussing this character and summarize the relevant academic findings and discussions about this character. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:38, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
Sadly, and I don't wish to disparage my own students' work, there is little added to this article by padding it with quotations, although there are a few new sources added. Keneckert (talk) 10:45, 17 June 2017 (UTC)keneckert
