He scored a goal in the 6-0 friendly game against Poland. CORRECT THIS! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2010/teams/spain/7811935/Spain-6-Poland-0-match-report.html

he came in France & Poland Friendly games

subbed in the Swiss game in World Cup, Started Chile, Honduras, Portugal & Paraguay and was subbed in Germany & Dutch so that's 9 Caps right there.

FIX YOUR CRAP —Preceding unsigned comment added by Walkertxranger (talkcontribs) 20:06, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Firstly, please be polite. It's not very pleasant to shout at people telling them to "fix their crap" and if you spoke like that to someone on the street they'd rightfully give you a smack. And this especially makes you look silly when you're completely incorrect regarding your comment. The 2010 section you're referring to doesn't actually exist and those apps Torres made you mentioned are included in the table, but under the 2009–10 season (ie 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010). The table is sorted by season, not year; I think that's what was confusing you. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:27, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Can someone also add that he was liverpool top goalscorer for 09-10 season aswell please :)

transfer talk

Chelsea placed a bid for Torres early today. These were rejected by liverpool. The bid was £35 million from chelsea. Liverpool said he is not for sale. Torres told Liverpool to consider chelsea's bid. Later today at 11.23, Torres handed in a written transfer request to leave for Chelsea, Liverpool rejected it. Torres may not feel keen on being at Liverpool with the new striker on the way, Liverpool agreed payment for dismorning. £23 Millon for Luis Suarez. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayjay4000 (talkcontribs) 01:07, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Vandalism!!

nevermind, removed it by myself, check history

--Mdtr (talk) 04:24, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

"This made him the fourth most expensive player in history."

He is/was either "sold for the fourth highest transfer fee in history" or "the fifth most expensive player in history" and is not "the fourth most expensive player in history" as the net present value of the sale of Zinedine Zidane in 2001 exceeds that of Fernando Torres due to inflation.

This is not just a technicality, the information presented on Torres' value in the initial paragraph is incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajgarnett (talkcontribs) 14:21, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

If the chart presented in the acompanying link is correct, he is neither. The chart lists him as the sixth most expensive transfer fee in Euros, and the fifth most expensive transfer fee in pound sterling. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.156.112.253 (talk) 15:50, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

This innaccurate claim has been removed from the initial paragraph, but the same ridiculous claim remains in the body of the article itself. Can someone not alter this claim throughout the article? His goal totals are obviously being updated so obviously his article is subject to some editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.21.116.58 (talk) 15:30, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

This season for Chelsea

There seems to be a rather large obmission in the article regarding Torres's sub-parr form for the year 2011. Considering this is a major point in his career and the constant focus on the media surely a paragraph should be added advising he is under intense media pressure following a record of 22 games and one goal having cost £50,000,000 making him constantly being compared to former Chelsea Flop Shevchenko. To not enter this is purely censorship and I can only imagine the person running this article is a big Torres fan. This article is meant to be an honest assessment of an individual not a "love parade" or some such thing or suchness.

It doesn't need to be as above (written in English would be a good thing) but it should be mentioned as this period will never be forgotten, whether he regains the form of old or not.

My request is that the number of assists for the 2011/12 season is changed. This is his assists in the Champions League to be more precise. At the moment, it is listed as 2 assists in the Champions League, when it is in fact 3 assists. Torres got 2 assists against Bayer Leverkusen, and another against Genk (he assisted Salomon Kalou's goal). To add some sources of reference, I will refer you to the goal.com play-by-play for the game, as well as SoccerWay's account of the game.
