Name explanation[edit]

The introduction explains what TR and I mean but not LM. I guess this is Le Mans? But it should say that. FullMetalJackalope (talk) 16:55, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose so, I couldn't find a source for that which is why it was left out. Donnie Park (talk) 17:59, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I guess some of this stuff is "So obvious we never wrote it down"
I like this as an article. Maybe it could use some copyediting to make some bits flow better? If it's a unique car, not just something really common like 250 GTOs(!) it could emphasise that? Why does the picture have two captions? If it really is unique, shouldn't the chassis number be more prominent there too? FullMetalJackalope (talk) 21:55, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I wish I could emphasise as a unique car but it will be WP:OR, so I had to do what Wikipedia wants me to do. The reason for two captions is that it was rebuilt form an existing car as a new serial number. Donnie Park (talk) 02:50, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hurricane Katrina?[edit]

The article states that the car was sold to a businessman who daily-drove it in New York City, then to a series of other owners who did (unsourced). It then states that the car "narrowly avoided" Hurricane Katrina but gives neither a source nor an explanation of how it got from NYC to the Gulf Coast, which would be some needed background in order for the mention of the hurricane to have any meaning. --Sable232 (talk) 01:13, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That section in the lead refers to ownership by Okada, Bardinon and Spiro, all of which are discussed with references in the Collector Ownership section. The Bloomberg reference sourcing the Katrina story during Spiro's ownership pointed to a dead link but I did find an archive of the article, which I just now added to the reference. I do agree that part of the lead seems very unclear, especially without inline references. I'm not even convinced Katrina needs to be mentioned in the lead at all. Maybe just replacing it with something like "The 330 TRI/LM's racing career ended after the 1963 24 Hours of Le Mans and it was subsequently repaired and rebuilt as a road car. Since then, it has been owned by several different collectors and restored back to 1962 specification. The car most recently sold to Gregorio Pérez Companc, who paid €7,000,000 in 2007." This is at least more elegant. Your thoughts? Prova MO (talk) 04:04, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think that would be much better. It gives enough of a synopsis of the car's post-race history and present status without being too detailed for the lead section.
I should've looked at the rest of the article before questioning it, but the Katrina bit was pretty confusing without context. --Sable232 (talk) 15:39, 29 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
