Right-handed

It says he's probably right-handed because he masturbates with his right hand, but I think right-handed men tend to masturbate with their left hand. That's certainly the stereotype. 23:38, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

What? I can't understand you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:37, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry but i agree with the comment above. Explain. I've definately never heard the stereotype that right-handed men masturbate with their left hands. Terminus777 (talk) 05:34, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Homeland

A little research has given the answer to the matter of Fez' homeland, rather then the one of three that has been there until now. In case someone wants to know, here's the main points that lead to the conclusion:

  • The strongest point would most obviously be that Indonesia is 10.000 miles from Wisconsin [1]
  • There is no more Dutch influence in Sri Lanka, that would make sense for Fez speaking Dutch.
  • The Netherlands Antilles has no jungle.
  • Looking at the history, it would make most sense that the Brittish hated the Indonesians.JackSparrow Ninja (talk) 01:38, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

I would like to say fez came from the philippines. I reasearched it and he did for sure come from the philippines. If you would like to talk to me about this email me at Reed_Christman@live.com

Whoever you are, please do not remove my bit which is scientifacally accurate analyzis on Fez's possible homeland. Compare my bit to the text prior to that: I state no opinion, guesses or anything other with no value. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:999:12:22D6:557D:63F:5823:4DEC (talk) 16:12, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Fez has never been speaking ANY of the languages spoken in the Philippines. Well, except for English.

"I reasearched it and he did for sure come from the philippines."

So, you talked to the Turner brothers? I think you have some issues, dude. Are you in love with "Fez", perhaps? YOU do not decide what other people can write here. Remember that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:999:12:22d6:557d:63f:5823:4dec (talkcontribs) 16:18, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Captain Pooface

I think Captain Pooface should be removed from the nicknames list, as he was only called that in the episode Picture Day in a flashback, and only being called a name once does not make it a nickname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.122.162.63 (talk) 23:16, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

relationship with Kelso

it seems at time that Fez has a repressed attraction to Kelso. Anyone else notice this? --74.178.228.178 (talk) 00:49, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Anything about the actual character here?

This article used to include quite a bit of material about Fez as a character (as opposed to his origins and unknowable nationality). Although these sections were on the whole badly written, poorly referenced and clogged with original research, I imagine at least some of the information can be restored, provided it can be properly sourced and represented, no? --70.181.184.7 (talk) 21:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Here's a better version for Fez's homeland-section.

Fez's secret country of origin is one of the longest running gags on the show.[1] Through all eight seasons, Fez's nationality remains a mystery, even to his closest friends, and the continual hints and clues Fez drops about his country only leave them more confused. In the episode "Eric's Birthday," Kitty, fantasizing about Eric's friends causing trouble, imagines Fez saying, "in my home country of... wherever it is I'm from; I can never tell..."

If ignoring Fez speaking gibberish and other obviously exaggerated implications of him eating spiders or living in a country where everything is just made of bamboo (such country does not exist on this planet) as hints of where he might be from, there are some quite factual, possible clues and allusions. In season 4's episode 24[2] Fez says that his British music teacher hates his people, because they have been at war with each other. In season 8's episode 21[3]—the next episode to the very last—in a rather foreboding manner Fez's best friend from his homeland comes to visit him. They stand next to each other in Forman's basement which can be deemed very symbolical as his friend is emphatically British from his dialect to his outer appearance. When Hyde asks if they are actually from the same place, Fez answers that his friend—Andrew Davis—is from the west side of the island. Taking note to these pieces of information, one could assume that the aforementioned war between Fez and his music teacher's people might have actually been the Falklands War between the United Kingdom and Argentina. To Hyde's question of where they are from, Fez's friend (portrayed by Justin Long) says that the name of that place depends on whether you ask the British or the Dutch. But the British won't say it, Fez explains, because they hate the island, and no one understands a word the Dutch say.

Fez's appearance is very Latin, so he is often assumed to be of Hispanic or Latino descent. It is never revealed if this is so, though earlier episodes, such as "Sunday, Bloody Sunday[4]," imply he can indeed speak Spanish. In one episode he sang a serenade in perfect, native-sounding Spanish to Jackie. In "Eric's Burger Job," during a job interview at Fatso Burger, Fez claims he can speak Dutch, but never on the show has Fez actually spoken any languages apart from English and Spanish. In "The Immigrant Song," Fez retells his catch phrase ("I said good day!") in his native tongue, which is in reality just gibberish.

Better now, but still too much of transliteration of lines the characters have said in the show. That hardly is the meaning of a segment called "Fez's homeland". For Fez's homeland never was revealed, can there even be a segment called "Fez's homeland" then? Maybe we should just remove this completely. Or at least change it to "Transliteration of certain lines from the characters of the show".

Everything I wrote is based on deduction, logic and FACTS. No guesses, no opinions — only FACTS. If that is not allowed here, then I shall remove the earlier-written parts of assuming he's a Hispanic or a Latino. They are all just guesses alike. 2001:999:10:7106:CD96:7572:29DB:8597 (talk) 21:26, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

The sources that you've used are not reliable so can't be used. Everything you've written is the very definition of original research and is not permitted as explained on one of your talk pages. This is why you were reverted so many times by multiple editors and why the article is now protected. The simple fact is that Fez's homeland has never been revealed and speculation is pointless. What is in the article now talks about the hints but doesn't speculate or assume as your text does. Let's move on. --AussieLegend () 06:14, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

ABC Islands?

Since he can speak Dutch and he's spoken Spanish in the show before ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvTxkYnXb60 ) and he is from an island where the Dutch and British were, I think he's probably from Aruba. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.23.123.163 (talk) 20:05, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

The show implies that it is a Caribbean island with its association with the British and the Dutch; however, the show's creators have actually said that they don't know where Fez is from - because they never could decide on a country - so they made it a secret. Trying to claim in the article that he is from Suriname or Aruba or Indonesia or the Philippines is not going to do any good, since it can't be proven. Much like the state where Springfield is located. --70.181.184.7 (talk) 21:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Origin?

He says he speak dutch and in the german version he has spanish accent. This could come from a surrounding country or heritage, too and is maybe a sign for South America.. The only land, which was former British and then Dutch is Suriname. His parents could be emigrated from e.g. Columbia -- 12:19, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Sven Müller —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.52.35.170 (talk)

Stormtrooper?!?

Why is Stormtrooper one of Fez's nicknames? I can't remember his ever being called that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.202.127 (talk) 23:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind. He posed as a Stormtrooper to try and sleep with Donna. But it was one episode, and only for a few moments at the end.

Nicknames

My revision where I added a couple of Fez's nicknames has been reverted. Surprise surprise, the Wikipedia Nazis got to it. Regardless, all of the other kids from the show have a "Nicknames" entry in their profile section. In the interests of consistency, I think this character should have that too. vandalism

Is it "14:49, 23 July 2007 RMCQgIaSy (Talk | contribs) m (12,108 bytes) (minor typo corrections) (undo)" that vandalised the article by changing various words to rhyming slang?

Indeed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:32, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Messy

This article had everything bunched together making it tedious to read (especially at 1.57am!).

Stereotype

I am surprised fez is not a complete stereotype. (anonymous)

Qualities

I came to the page wishing to know his qualities. I can't really tell. Please add a small bit in a new section? Thanks,X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 04:40, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Origins

"If this is so, then this is a nod to the fact that Valderrama was born in the U.S. and then immigrated to another country as a young boy." and other nonsense in the Origins section. It's just a gag, there's no evidence that any of the gags about the character are "nods" to anything about the actor. It's ridiculous. "Nods" are inside jokes, and outside references to actors or producers or history or people. This show has billions of nods to many of its actors. For example, when Kurtwood Smith (Red) said that he was sick of saying lines that were demeaning to Topher Grace, the writers wrote the episode where he's drunk and says "I love you" to Eric..

Alex Lindsay

Why would his name be Alex Lindsay? In the episode where he says his name, it is clearly a long name and Hyde says, "We'll never be able to pronounce that."

  • Yeah, where did those two rumored names even come from? Also his best friend part is now out of date, as he was seen in the series finale. --Gimpy 21:26, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

No, he was seen in the episode before the series finale. Good episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:29, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Fez Wearing Fez?

The last sentence in 'Origins' says "Another flashback also shows Fez wearing an actual Fez." That doesn't make much sense to me.--KnowledgeBringsFear 20:41, 19 August 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by KnowledgeBringsFear (talkcontribs)

Birthdate

If I am not mistaken, on the 12 January 2006 episode of That '70s Show, Fez said that his birthdate was August 2nd (I remember August, however, I am 75% certain that he said 2). Therefore, this would mean that Fez was born August 2nd, 1959. Christophe T. Stevenson 14 January 2006.

I though he said August 22nd. I might be wrong though. It could be 2nd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:38, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

There are eitherways two different birthdays of fez on his page, "August 4, 1960" and "August 4, 1959" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.35.146.108 (talk) 18:49, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

His birthday is on 4th of August 1960 (as he is described as being 19 years old in Season 8 "Good Company"). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.208.3.73 (talk) 01:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

There's no doubt that his birthday is August 4 but the year is unclear. He says that his birthday is "August fourth" in "Good Company", which is set in 1979, but since we don't know whether the episode occurs before or after August 4, 1979 his birth year can't be specifically stated. It's obviously 1959 or 1960 but sources need to directly support claims. Cobbling multiple clues together to determine that it's one or the other is WP:SYNTH. The citation for the birthdate is:
  • "Good Company". That '70s Show. Season 8. Episode 8. January 12, 2006. 8:39 minutes in. Fox. it's August fourth {{cite episode}}: Unknown parameter |episodelink= ignored (|episode-link= suggested) (help); Unknown parameter |serieslink= ignored (|series-link= suggested) (help)

Fes or Fez

Remembering from the first couple episodes, Kelso was the one who gave him the name but the name stood for Foriegn Exchange Student, so shouldnt it be Fes?

They pronounce it Fez.

The subtitles spell it F-E-Z. And, how can something Kelso says be taken as true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.101.243.143 (talk) 01:55, 15 April 2009 (UTC) All material refers to him as Fez. Who vandalised the page here? --86.87.28.191 (talk) 21:10, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
