Notable?

[edit]

As it stands, it's not clear this is actually an article about the Fidget Cube at all, rather than one about a Kickstarter campaign that merely happens to be for the cube. The references are as much, if not more about the cube as a business venture and crowdfunding event than as a notable subject in its own right, and even those that provide some RS'ing for the Fidget Cube qua Fidget Cube are pretty low-quality (the Daily Mail for sure isn't exactly the heights of in-depth reliable reporting and scientific rigor). But even if those were remedied, the topic seems to be at the very edges of suitability for inclusion in WP at this time. After all, it's a brand new, single toy/gadget, and it's not clear it's even yet in full production (the Kickstarter page says it's pre-order, while some of the cited articles suggest it was in production but then something forced them to pause/halt), let alone been there for long enough to assess whether it is just one more flash-in-the-pan idea, or something notable and enduring, like the Hula Hoop, or even just notable but fleeting, like Clackers. Of course the cube may well become notable, but at the moment I'd say this article is very premature, and as a result is essentially an advert for the cube. I've split out the funding description from the description of the cube itself, to at least make it clear which is which, and I've also tagged for the above points. I suggest that a deletion may be warranted, but we should certainly discuss first. The article is currently semi-protected, so someone cares about. :-) Sleety Dribble (talk) 16:51, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Sleety Dribble: From what I've seen, it passes GNG even outside of the Kickstarter campaign. If you think it should be deleted, take it to Articles for deletion. Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 14:36, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can I help

[edit]

Can I plz help with this page Camden226 (talk) 03:27, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Of course you can, Camden226. Just support any major edits with reliable sources and make sure they follow a neutral point of view. (Also, and I don't intend to sound rude or anything, but use proper English, no shorthand stuff like "plz"). SkyWarrior 03:36, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The fidget cube was the result of a Kickstarter campaign in late 2016. After Antsy Labs created a youtube video for it, it became very popular. The fidget cube generated over 4 million dollars and was in the top ten of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns. [1]

The fidget cube is small enough to be taken around everywhere and has sensory tools on each side of the cube. It has a Spin, a Roller Ball, a Worry Stone, a Flip, a Joystick and the Click.

Some people call it the evolution of the fidget spinner [2], but it is its own product. The roots are the same, the options of handeling it are very different.

One of the biggest benefit of a fidget cube, its helping to improve the concentration! It also reduces your stress level and anxiety. JohnnySommer (talk) 14:17, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Change "It has sensory tools on all sides: a rocker switch, gears, a rolling ball, a small joystick, a spinning disc, a "rubbing stone", and 5 buttons." to "It has sensory tools on all sides: a rocker switch, gears, a rolling ball, a small joystick, a spinning disc, a shallow indent similar to that of a "worry stone", and 5 buttons." Also link the word "worry stone" to the "worry stone" wiki article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worry_stone. The creators state on the kickstarter page that this feature was inspired my traditional carved worry stones. SOURCE: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/antsylabs/fidget-cube-a-vinyl-desk-toy. What is the source for calling it a "rubbing stone"? As far as I can tell, a rubbing stone is an industrial abrasive, which is not found in a fidget cube. Nor is any portion of the cube made of stone. Whatever that side is, it's not something most people would identify as a "rubbing stone," and a typical reader would not find that description informative.12.31.111.76 (talk) 23:08, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
