Taking this on.--IDVtalk 15:06, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Review[edit]

All right. Keep in mind that I have not played any Final Fantasy games (unless you count Mana).

Lead
  • There was a day-night cycle tied to the real-world time of day, and includes a social element - switches to present tense, and it is not said what the social element is included with.
  • whereby talking with a befriending certain characters - is that "a" supposed to be "and"? Or is one of "talking with" and "befriending" not supposed to be there?
  • The game, which acts as a companion to the original game, - is the original game Type-0, or does it refer to something else?
  • an alternate cycle of conflict - I don't know what this means.
  • The original protagonists - of Type-0? Or some other game?
  • Link Hajime Tabata.
  • the game had five hundred thousand registered users - is there a reason to not write it as "500,000"?
Gameplay
  • sets out on missions across Orience. - might be good to mention what Orience is here. I've already read the rest of the article, but if I hadn't I might have wondered if it was a town, a country, whatever.
  • but eventually is soon able to explore - I feel like "eventually" and "soon" aren't both needed - pick one.
  • Recurring creatures such as Moogles and Chocobos appear. - okay, so I recognize these names, but you might want to say that they're recurring creatures within the Final Fantasy series. Also, the sentence comes out of nowhere and ends very suddenly - Okay, so Moogles and Chocobos appear, but what are they, in what context do they appear? Maybe tie it together with the next sentence with a colon?
  • special control stick - Is this a virtual controller on the screen? Is there anything special about it, because that sounds like the standard way of doing "traditional" button controls on a touch screen.
  • The character's bedroom - "The player character's bedroom", or "The Cadet's bedroom".
  • The in-game time is also synchronized with real-world time. Like, if you play at night it's night in the game world? It's very sudden and doesn't really elaborate on how it works. Additionally, I don't think the word "also" is needed.
  • Might want to link side-quests to Quest (video gaming).
  • Successfully completing quests - "Successfully" seems unnecessary, unless it's possible for a quest to be marked as completed without the player succeeding at the task?
  • How does the job system work?
Setting and characters
  • Noticing that the Cadet is linked here, and not on their first mention.
  • Two other crucial characters - Not so sure that we should be calling something "crucial".
Plot
  • Explain that the game is split into phases before saying In the First Phase, - the reader doesn't necessarily know this yet.
  • What is Tempus Finis? My limited knowledge of Latin-based languages say it's the end of time, which seems to make sense, but please explain it.
  • What is a l'Cie?
  • Who is Cid?
  • The average English-speaker probably doesn't know what gaiden means.
Development
  • Explain who Tabata is, and link his name.
  • The average English-speaker probably doesn't know what TGS means - write out Tokyo Game Show, and link it.
Release
Episode table
  • What is the meaning of the "Chapter" in "Chapter (First Phase)"?
  • Is it necessary to write the platforms here? The game is only available on iOS and Android, so what other platforms could the release dates be referring to?
Post-release and legacy
  • The first hint of a localization appeared when the Agito trademark filed for European territories. When was this?
  • Later, at TGS, - Which TGS was this? 2013?

Looks pretty good. Placing this on hold for a week..--IDVtalk 16:12, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@IDV: I think I've attended to everything you pointed out. I also went through the gameplay section and did some present-to-past tense fixings, as this game is technically gone forever. --ProtoDrake (talk) 17:44, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@ProtoDrake: Looks good! Passing this now. --IDVtalk 23:58, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
