Which Country?

[edit]

Whose military follows this tradition? Are we supposed to assume it's American? What does it mean to salute Army-style or Navy-style? I don't know a thing about the military, I wish I did because then I could clean up this article a bit.

Is this a joke?

[edit]

In the US, a pilot is always an officer. They aren't saluting the ground crew at all...they are returning the salute, indicating that the enlistees can carry on with their duties. "A more informal way"? Um, space restrictions within the cockpit dictate the abbreviated movements. And frankly, I'd like to see a citations for even one single country that uses the Monty Python salute on ground. --Connel MacKenzie - wikt 10:09, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
