Explanation, please?[edit]

About 90% of this article is pure crap, written by SPAs. Anyone mind if I delete it?--Pete (talk) 10:26, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good. I've taken a broom to a lot of it, giving reasons in the ed summaries. Feel free to discuss any particular section. Sources are needed for two large sections which appear to be advertising. --Pete (talk) 17:18, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed pretty much everything that looks to be unsourced. If sources can be found, feel free to restore the text. --Pete (talk) 18:43, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested additions[edit]

Hi there, we are disclosing that we are from the Financial Ombudsman Service Australia. We have noticed that Wikipedia has flagged this page as requiring cleanup since November 2014 as the current page content does not comply with the neutral point of view policy. This content is provided on the Talk pages as a suggestion to make the page more balanced and accurate. We are providing this suggested content and verifiable references in compliance with Wikipedia policies for editors to amend. FOSAust (talk) 05:33, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, FOSAust. Here is not the place to propose your draft. I suggest that you remove all the text below and post it at FOSAust/sandbox/FOS edit 16 February 2017. That way this talk page is not bogged down with content and can focus on discussion. In any event, I have today edited the article to provide some semblance of what I think is appropriate. My general comments re below is that to the average punter, your draft is way too technical and needs simplification. I suggest that you look at similar ombudsman articles as a reference/starting point. Also, your references need to expressed in terms of Wikipedia citation style. Please refer to {{Citation Style documentation}}. Finally, I encourage you to register as a Wikipedia user and clearly disclose who you are, for transparency purposes. Happy editing Rangasyd (talk) 11:07, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your edits and helpful feedback,Rangasyd. We've reviewed other ombudsman articles and tried to follow the Wikipedia guidelines by declaring our connection to the topic as well as making suggestions via this talk page. We think the article can still be improved in terms of verifiable information and balance. — FOSAust (talkcontribs) 03:41, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
FOSAust, hi there again. It looks like you're not going to register your profile. The content below does not sit on here. As a result, I have today moved this content to FOSAust edit 16 February 2017. Happy editing. Rangasyd (talk) 08:14, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
ThanksRangasyd. We'll try to work out how to register. —FOSAust (talk 00:32, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have had a look at the suggested edits, I have taken some of this and applied it to the article today. I agree with Rangasyd comments and have simplified your suggestions. I appreciate that you have disclosed your conflict of interest on this talk page but please also note the WP:COISELF for further edits. Sargdub (talk) 05:08, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
