Inaccuracy in China

[edit]

I found a source that discusses the China GPS offset problem in some detail — "A More Complete iOS Solution to the China GPS Offset Problem" — but this source does not discuss Find My Friends specifically; therefore I'm not sure how to incorporate it into this article. In any case, I think a new article, China GPS offset problem, would be a useful addition to Wikipedia; I'm working on this in my sandbox. — Jaydiem (talk) 22:43, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Potential Edits

[edit]

Edit #1 to Features Section: According to Apple, there is a maximum of 100 friends. One may also track friends and receive notifications when a friend leaves or arrives at a new place. [1]Location can be shared temporary or indefinitely when accepting friend requests. [2] When meeting up with friends, you can get directions to their current location.(I want to add this information to give the user a better understanding of all of the features offered)

Edit #2 to Description: People download Find My Friends to keep track of their children and keep up with their friends. (Why: Helps readers understand why people download find my Friends and how it could be beneficial to them)

Edit #3 Safety Concerns: Apple predicted there would be safety concerns regarding sharing one’s exact location with someone. There are numerous safety precautions to allow the user to only share their location with people they want to share with. One can only obtain friends by accepting friend requests and can remove friends when necessary. Users can stop sharing their location altogether or only make it temporary with a certain friend. [3] (Why: Gives an understanding of the security of the app and what type of safety precautions the app offers)
