Significance[edit]

Is this a significant article? 71.38.138.155 (talk) 21:47, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Non-violent use[edit]

Article seems to be biased towards using the gesture as a sort of "I'm going to shoot you" gesture. I would argue that it's more commonly used in a friendly way, like pic related: https://c8.alamy.com/comp/2BDRHEE/cool-friendly-guy-pointing-at-camera-with-a-finger-gun-gesture-and-smiling-he-is-wearing-stylish-sunglasses-2BDRHEE.jpg

Legality[edit]

The significance of this article could be greatly enhanced with a section on the various legal considerations in different jurisdictions...if someone has the time to do the research... Bainst (talk) 16:00, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What's Up Finger Guns Picture[edit]

Does anyone know why this picture was removed? I don't see it in any edit summary. Ahumanexisting (talk) 18:25, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, the one from 1 November 2019. Ahumanexisting (talk) 18:28, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The material that the picture supported -- that the gesture can also mean "hi what's up" was removed, so I guess it makes sense to remove the picture too. The material is not sourced and what's more I think it's wrong -- finger gun is used for "good point" or "spot on" not "hi". But we'd need good sources before including any of that.
