Table display changes

[edit]

I disagree with the table looking better this way. I tried to use a different format for these pages where all of the competing songs are centred on the page in one table with composer information. I also decided against using gold and silver colors because these are just qualifiers and not winners. I took the example from the Eurovision Song Contest by year pages. I don't mind compromising on certain features but in my opinion those tables shouldn't be centred. Pickette (talk) 21:31, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see what's so wrong with centered tables, they look nice in my opinion. I'm willing to compromise on the table colors, I just used those since that's what was used for UMK last year. Honestly, I like this format much more since it looks much neater and organized. Jjj1238 (talk) 21:33, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry I shouldn't have reverted your edit without messaging you first. I'm just trying to keep these pages all updated. The reason I didn't centre those tables was because I took an example from other competition shows where the list of all competitors is centred at the top of the page and then the actual competition shows are aligned to the left. If you think it looks better centred, we can keep it that way but I do think we shouldn't use the gold in any shows other than the final to indicate the winner. Let me know what you think! Ok, so I guess we'll keep the tables centered. How about we just use the same colors as A Dal? Yellow for automatic qualifiers and qualifiers from the semi-final, and purple for the one's who qualified to the semi-final? It's fine by the way, you don't have to apologize :P Jjj1238 (talk) 21:50, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, that sounds good! Pickette (talk) 21:57, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the purple back to silver. The purple in Hungary is in a legend which explains why it's used (I kinda stole that layout from the Hungarian version of that article), whereas silver is kinda associated as a runner-up colour so it fits with this more. I'm probably overthinking it, if you don't like it please feel free to change it back. Pickette (talk) 02:24, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hahaha, no it's fine don't worry about. You don't have to ask me if it's ok by the way :P Jjj1238 (talk) 02:38, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, but one thing. I'm not really sure how to explain this, but you edited the tables, so before everything fit on one line, but now the longer titles go on two lines. If that explains it. Because I edited in the first place so everything would be one line. I'm sorry if this sounds confusing, English isn't my first language and I'm not sure how to explain it.
