Illogical Page Structure and Redirect

[edit]

It makes no sense to have a page for the UK's "First" Civil Service Commissioner and not have a proper page for the UK Civil Service Commission (just a redirect page). Someone should reinstate a proper UK Civil Service Commission page and include the "First Commissioner" information within that. I will do that in a few days if nobody objects. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.200.172.182 (talk) 20:08, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is now a proper "Civil Service Commissioners (UK)" page, and this "First Civil Service Commissioner" page should probably be deleted. 146.90.116.236 (talk) 14:42, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest discussing the matter first, here or at the new article's talk page. If it's a notable topic discussed elsewhere, a redirect from this title to the new article might be better - and would preserve the history here, so others can make use of it. It seems unwise to preserve a bad structure, just in order to make historical linking easier. I am confident that the primary institution is the Civil Service Commission, and that the position of First Commissioner, and the list of past and present First Commissioners, are both subsidiary, and not sufficiently distinct (or long) to justify a separate page.46.208.125.68 (talk) 09:12, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
