For the cathedral, see Milan Cathedral, for the commonly named Saint Ambrose, see Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio.

The flag of Milan consists of a red cross in a white field or cloud, and inspired that of Genoa.
Inspired flag of Genoa? Really? The flags of Milan and Genoa look identical, and as I saved the image files, they are same-sized in 3 different sizes. At least in Commons they are just the same. 82.141.125.215 (talk) 03:17, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is completely wrong[edit]

The St. Ambrose origin is just a legend, as it is well explained (and documented) in the italian wiki page. The adoption of the red cross in Milano is much later. Genova flag has non been inspired by Milano's one. It is more likely the vice-versa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.56.54.165 (talk) 10:41, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
