Flag of the Vermont Republic and Green Mountain Boys[edit]
A friend sent me an image of a flag at a museum in Pennsylvania that belonged to John Stark. My guess is that early flags in North America were not as regular and codified as European flags of the time, or most flags today. The present flag icon differs and I wonder what it was based upon. From what I have seen the only "specification" for the Green Mountain Boys flag was a green flag with a blue canton, containing thirteen stars in a "natural" pattern. I do not believe the shades for blue and green were specified, nor the size of the canton. And natural just meant looking like stars in the sky rather than a geometric arrangement. I was under the impression that the SVG file matched the flag in current use by the VT National Guard, but never checked on that. —MJBurrage • TALK • 16:45, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
