Two Flathead Ranges[edit]

There are two different Flathead Ranges. This article is currently a mix up of the two.

  • Flathead Range (Montana), SE of Whitefish, source: [1]. Entirely in the US. Wikidata: d:Q49176323.
  • Flathead Range (BC). " The Flathead Range informally extends from the 49th parallel to Tornado Pass on the North, a distance of approximately 100 km. West boundary is Flathead and Elk Rivers. East boundary is Waterton and Livingston Rivers. " source [2]. This range is on the border between BC and Alberta, entirely in Canada. Wikidata: d:Q5457898. --Kitayama (talk) 14:59, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just ran across this article. What portion of the written article is discussing the mountain range in Canada? How is this a mix of the two? I lived in Montana and can unequivocally say that all of the written portion of this article is discussing the Flathead Range in Montana. Perhaps the article needs to be moved to Flathead Range (Montana) to distinguish the two. --ARoseWolf 14:25, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Looking through the Revision History, it appears this article started with the intent to be the Canadian range, and over time evolved into the US range. I agree that the article should now be moved to Flathead Range (Montana). Also, Great Northern Mountain is not the highest peak of the range. Ron Clausen (talk) 05:45, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
