I thought I might as well start this page, even if the article in its initial state is much more "Why is a flip?" rather than "What is a flip?" I feel like this isn't such a terrible thing, though, since the primary reason people care about flips seems to be that they allow you to carry on with the MMP (rather than any more specific properties, or details of the construction). Nevertheless, I think the article would be much improved by a bit more detail on how flips are actually constructed (in the cases where they have been.) So please add this in if you can. Well, a lot of the content of this article has now been reproduced on Minimal model (birational geometry), so it seems reasonable to trim it somewhat. I'll get to that in the next few days, hopefully. Artie P.S. (talk) 16:05, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
