It could be, or the name is common enough that it could be a different Flo Steinberg. I think if we can link her to one of the other names here, that would be a convincing factor. --Tenebrae (talk)
Me I think his complete name is FLORENCE RAE STEINBERG and that she was born in BOSTON on March 17, 1939 according to some research on ancestry but it will be fun to wait to see a reliable source to be sure... --Danielvis08 (talk) 01:12, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent. The New York Daily News gave her age at death as 78, so 1939 would be in the ballpark. A bit more research and I think we'll have it. In the meantime, I've ordered a copy of Comics Interivew from 1984 that has an interview with Flo, so maybe it will corroborate something above and confirm it. --Tenebrae (talk) 01:19, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
An editor a few hours ago made an assumption about this primary source. It may be the same Flo Steinberg or it may not be. WP:BLPPRIMARY is clear that "Where primary-source material has been discussed by a reliable secondary source, it may be acceptable to rely on it to augment the secondary source, subject to the restrictions of this policy, no original research, and the other sourcing policies." So we need a secondary source confirming, for instance, that her parents' names are Harry and Sadie before we can use this primary source. --Tenebrae (talk) 01:34, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I made that edit based on other corroborating sources, just didn't see the need to plaster a ton of citations on the page but obviously there are huge constraints on this entry versus other BLPs. Also, see obit: obituary. I resent the fact that my edits are being questioned. If you wanted citations to support these good faith, actually improving the quality of the page, you could have asked and it could've been a good editing experience. To revert these edits does not assume good faith, is not collaborative, and is really hostile and deletionist. I won't continue to participate on the editing of this page now. There's no date on the Legacy.com obit here, and since it uses the Wikipedia picture it probably used the unverified WP:PRIMARY information that was placed in Wikipedia today as well. There is no deadline and it is better to be sure and get it right than to risk propagating bad information. RE: "I made that edit based on other corroborating sources" — such as what? Cite them, as WP:BLPPRIMARY instructs. You "just didn't see the need to plaster a ton of citations on the page" — well, citations are what make up WP:VERIFY. Again, I don't need a lecture here on how to do citations and stuff. I was trying to improve the page and didn't do a complete job obviously. But instead of building on that or asking for more citations, you all have deleted the content entirely. It's really rude and unconstructive. BLP, which applies to recently deceased people as well. specifically instructs that questionable biographical claims be removed. This was a clearly WP:BLPPRIMARY violation. Plus, the issue was being discussed on the talk page, and your edit completely circumvented that discussion.
In any case, she will be listed in the Social Security Death Index shortly. Her July 2017 death date, reported in secondary sources, will align with what's reported there, confirming that source and making it usable. In the meantime, the recognized comics authority Michael J. Vassallo, who also was a longtime friend of Flo's, today on his blog gave her birth date. We still can't use the familysearch data since it only estimates a 1939 birth and does not contain any specific corroborating detail that this is the same Flo Steinberg. Is there a more reputable source?[edit]

Is there a more reputable source regarding her death such as an obituary listing? I know there's this listing but is there anything more concrete? See: WP:RS Snickers2686 (talk) 20:43, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So far, it's just Larra Hama posting on Facebook. While Hama certainly is credible enough, Wikipedia just as certainly disallows any claim of death from a WP:USERGENERATED social-media post unless it were from the subject's own verified page. Place of death[edit]

I reverted this removal of her place of death, because her place of death was first added to this Wikipedia article at the same time as the link to the cited source (this edit), thus the linked source could not possibly have obtained this specific information from this Wikipedia article. --Robert.Allen (talk) 20:13, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
