Air Crash

[edit]

Should the fate of the other craft be included ? http://www.baaa-acro.com/1943/archives/crash-of-a-fokker-f22-into-the-loch-tarbert-20-killed/ 86.143.211.10 (talk) 15:10, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Engines

[edit]

It says they considered a version with "two 650hp Gnome-Rhone engines" that would have "greater power and allow a greater weight". How is two 650hp engines more powerful than four 500hp engines? It would make sense if the reduced engine weight of two allowed an equal capacity with less fuel consumption, but the article makes it sound like they actually rejected it because the engines weighed too much. I just don't see how two engines can both be more powerful and heavier than 4 engines. Are they talking about replacing two engines with more powerful ones, so they have a mix of different types on the same aircraft? That would explain how the added power doesn't compensate for the additional weight. It's not very clear from the text. Idumea47b (talk) 19:38, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
