Saw you added the map - looks great :) --2CurlyBoys (talk) 13:06, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good! The only thing I might suggest, and its something I intend to do to mine as well, is adding that first paragraph as an overview paragraph. Just a suggestion :). Jayers07 (talk) 21:23, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jayers07, do you mean calling it a summary? I think it reads like a summary already. Thanks! Coharris (talk) 11:56, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Coharris[reply]

Very nice start. Keep using this format for references--it seems to be working well. Derosadual (talk) 00:54, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So far - so good! Your page looks great and while I have heard the term "food desert" thrown around, it's nice to see where it comes from. The layout is clear and concise and my guess from your text is that determining WHAT constitutes a food desert is actually several different factors and formulas. I'm a visual gal so if there were a map outlining where these food deserts listed were located, it may help my geographically challenged brain see a bit better about how diverse and expansive the list may be. Great job! --2CurlyBoys (talk) 14:53, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks 2CurlyBoys, I added a picture, the USDA Food Desert Locator map. However, on the USDA website the map has now been replaced with a Food Access Research Atlas- a far more superior tool, but not Wiki compatible. Coharris (talk) 11:55, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Coharris[reply]

Your page looks great! Wonderful format. I love the way it flows. Great topic too. If you're really passionate about this topic as it applies to our area a great council to join would be the Asheville-Buncombe Food Action Policy Council. They are partnering with the Asheville City Council. They strive to make a Asheville a Food Oasis.... and eliminate food deserts in our area. Great job! --ASway24 (talk) 18:30, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Also, thanks Ashleigh, for the suggestions about the Asheville Buncombe Food Policy Council. I was involved in the first 9 months or so but the new job made it really hard to go to meetings. I'm glad to hear people are still talking about it and their very important work is gaining traction! Why did the bill fail?[edit]

As a reader, I'd like to know why the bill did not come to a vote. How was the bill covered in the media, if it was ... and other factors during that time. If the bill influenced future policy, that'd be nice to know too. -- Jaireeodell (talk) 17:22, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
