I've looked at about 8 top 10-100 lists for 1980 and none even have Led Zeppelin on them. If it is removed, it's on the album article too. --Ortzinator 21:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LATIN ROCK ?!!!?!!![edit]

I won't make the change myself, yet, but how the hell does this tune qualify as "Latin Rock?" If I'm not mistaken, Latin Rock is performed by Spanish folk (Los Lobos, for example). "Fool In The Rain" barely even sounds Latin! The category of this tune should be changed to simply "Rock," but I'll leave that to discussion first. Genesis "version"[edit]

The bit about "Misunderstanding" needs a source I think. In his interview on the SACD of Genesis's "Duke" album, Collins talks about using Toto's "Hold the Line" as a basis for the song, not this one. Surely you're joking![edit]

As of 5 Oct 2008, the article on Richard Feynman (6th paragraph under "Personal Life") claims that he was a session musician on this song in 1979 (which conflicts with the late 1978 recording date given here). It's not mentioned in this article and a couple of quick Googles don't show anything. Anybody got a citation for this? 70.185.218.79 (talk) 08:22, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've found this and this, but neither sounds like a reliable source. I think the definitive answer could be found in the booklet of the album, where I expect whoever played percussions on this song to be credited. Latin rock[edit]

Time to reopen an old discussion. A lot of non-Latin rockers do Latin rock music. There's no reason why it shouldn't say Latin Rock. FMAFan1990 (talk) 22:19, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Heavily studio-based"[edit]

I think the two sentences after the one regarding the song being "heavily studio-based" is false. John Paul Jones can play piano and bass at the same time. He uses foot bass pedals to achieve that. It is also possible that Jimmy Page could use his double-neck Gibson to play twelve-string and a solo in the song. Drums recorded seperately?[edit]

Hey all,

I know there are several takes of John Bonham's master drum tracks floating around the net, but not all of them necessarily indicate that they were used.

For example, the assertion that Bonham recorded the breakdown the breakdown separately goes against one of the takes I found that shows the drum track in its entirety and it seems pretty continuous (no cut) to me. I found it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14GYov0EdyQ. Genre warring[edit]

Meter[edit]

Time signature-wise, the article is calling it as 4/4 "in the main parts." Sounds more like 12/8 to me. It's at least an eight-count with triplets, to finish out the phrase. O0drogue0o (talk) 14:28, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
