Ford Prefect (car)Ford Prefect — The car is the main subject here and anything else should be disambiguated. —Reginmund 04:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any additional comments:
  • I expect this proposal to run into recentist objections, but I do think that it's stupid to have a disambig page for two entries. One or the other should become the main article. --Groggy Dice T | C 07:43, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been renamed from Ford Prefect (car) to Ford Prefect as the result of a move request. A hatlink suffices instead of a disambig. page. --Stemonitis 08:17, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake

[edit]

In the 2005 film adaptation, the character is seen to be nearly run over by a real Ford Prefect automobile. Adams himself noted that Americans totally missed this joke (as this vehicle was never sold in the US). - Can't be, Douglas Adams died in 2001, four years before the movie was released. What is meant by the sentence? --FordPrefect42 (talk) 22:53, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adams did, however, approve the screenplay of the film prior to his death. Whether this joke was in the version of the screenplay he saw or not, I couldn't say. But this film was floating around in development for years before they actually started production. Lurlock (talk) 16:57, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dating UK registered cars

I think I may have entered a link wrongly in an edit summary I just entered to the Ford Prefeect page. But it's quite a useful site for some (of our) purposes. I wonder if I can make it work better here...
