Circuit list[edit]

The separate page that listed and illustrated each circuit was deleted because given the image of each track, and the limited amount of text, it was considered a gallery. Its nature as a list was not the issue.
With that separate page gone, the short list that was already in the main article became more useful not less. In addition, no one of the external links has the complete list of tracks in one place making the list here doubly usefull.

One of the points made during the deletion debate was that the list of circuits was excessive detail, better linked to in the external links; the result was delete, not merge, so it can be taken as read that the information on that page wasn't suited for this one, either. As for "no one of the external links has the complete list of tracks in one place"; perhaps the answer is to contribute to a relevant BGG geeklist, which can then be linked to directly. I do not see anything at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Formula Dé circuits—other than your comment—that suggests a simple list of the expansions is inappropriate. The comments are almost exclusively about the gallery nature of the—now deleted—Formula Dé circuits page, and most suggest merging the text of the circuits page into the game’s article.
This was, at the time, unnecessary, since the lists of circuits (without further details) had been in the main page for some time. Removing the short list from the game’s page actually goes against most of the comments. —MJBurrage • TALK • 19:09, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you consider - as a compromise, since the table as it standstakes up over a quarter of the article - something more compact? How about a simple list, in columns? Something like:
Along with the two circuits that come with the main game, additional boards with different circuits on them were available. The additional circuits are purely expansion sets; you need the original Formula Dé board game to use them. They were usually two circuits per package. Circuits released for Formula dé include:

Ludodélire produced 14 race circuits. The first 13 were color boards, and were all reprinted in the Euro Games/Descartes series. The last was a black and white paper circuit included in a boxed expansion. Which one of the 13 color circuits was included in the boxed game depended on what country it was purchased in.

I know it is still longer than just listing the race circuits, but I believe the publishing information is useful, and encyclopedic. Even more-so now since the expansions are out of print. P.S. Yeah, they were a nice find. The above is definitely an improvement on the article; I think we can get a bit more compact without losing information. I'm not convinced the information is encyclopedic, and I do think it's strongly discouraged by the guidelines at WP:NOT, but if we can retain it without making the lists too long, I don't mind. BTW, have you heard that the expansions are coming back into print? I think I put a reference into the article a while back.

So, how about this: I've replaced Circuit No X with just No X, for reasons of space, but the rest of the information is there. I've also reordered it so that the earlier circuits come first. Percy Snoodle 09:29, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
