The M8[edit]

"The M8 motorway in the eastern approaches to Glasgow took over some of the alignment of the canal, but more recent ideas have regenerated the utility of the canal for leisure use."

Looking over Google Maps, I cannot see any location where this might be the case. The canal appears to be either far to the north or the west of the entire area where the M8 is north of the Clyde. I see there is what appears to be an offshoot that runs into the city center era and comes to the M8, so I assume this is what is being referred to, but that appears to be a very small part of the canal as a whole, and it seems the "main line" of the canal continues to the Clyde to the west.

If this is correct, I think this should be more clear in the lede. But it's been decades since I was in Glasgow so I'm hesitant to comment. Maury Markowitz (talk) 20:56, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
