Novel[edit]

It seems to me a critical issue for the novel is how autobiographical and factual it is. Many of the events and issues appear to have occured in Philadelphia. Whose experiences was it based on and how close are they to actual events? For example one of the character is named Bird. Charles M. Bird was an influential principal at Philadelphia's first public school for African Americans. Is there a connwction? FloridaArmy (talk) 21:56, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
