"While they have their own separate identities, they are all unincorporated areas."

I don't think this is correct for the enclaves of Franklin. I think some were historical areas that were later incorporated into Franklin Township and pay property taxes to Franklin Township. Some still have a post office, so they have their own zip code. Some have their own schools. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) 00:18, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the term unincorporated is meant in the legal sense -- that they have no independent taxing authority or legal standing. By definition, the only incorporated entity in Franklin Township is Franklin Township itself. The fact that they have their own post office is not particularly important, since the Postal Service establishes Post Offices based on mail volume and convenience of delivery, not on civil boundaries.
