Singer and actress[edit]

I have noticed that questions of this distinction are often asked after on thes articles. The truth is, that up until about the mid 19th century, the distiction among the singers of the opera and the actros of the theatre was not as strict as it became later; both the singers and the actors were expected to sing and act. If singers had dramatic talent, they were expected to act in the theatre; and if actors were able to sing, they were expected to act in operas. Therefore, many of these artists (far from all, however) are known to have been both singers and actors in paralell, although one of these careers strongly dominated. I believe Stading was only a singer.--85.226.41.66 (talk) 14:54, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. In Stadings case, she was only a singer, I believe.--85.226.44.207 (talk) 20:52, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Parts she made[edit]

The parts are in danger of being deleted because the composer of the works is not written in the article. So I will place them here: She played the main part in Cora och Alonzo at the premier of the new building of the Opera in the 1782-83 season opposite Elisabeth Olin and Carl Stenborg, and Margareta Vasa in Gustav Vasa, the 19 January 1786, a play called the greatest triumph of the Gustavian opera, regarded as her greatest part. Among her other parts where Myris in Arséne the 1779-80 year season, Sangaride in Atys 1784-85 season, Andromache in Andromaque 1785-86, the goddess Frigga in Frigga, 1786-87, Elektra in Elektra and Ebba Brahe in Gustav Adolf och Ebba Brahe (Gustav Adolf and Ebba Brahe) 1787-88, Ingrid in Folke Birgersson till Ringstad (Folke Birgersson of Ringstad) 1792-93, Charlotte in Renaud d'Ast 1795-96, Antigone in Oidipus i Athen (Oidipus in Athens) 1800-01 opposite Christoffer Christian Karsten and Anais in Anakreon på Samos (Anachreon on Samos) during the 1802-03 season.--85.226.47.151 (talk) 10:48, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
