freak folk

[edit]

What are some characteristics of freak folk? The article lists artists associated with the genre, but that doesn't give a specific idea of what is considered "freak folk." Blackmorningsun 18:51, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History?

[edit]

Bands from the 1960s like the Holy Modal Rounders and Pearls Before Swine were using the term freak folk in their heyday --scruss (talk) 04:28, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the godz and the fugs also. it's not new. i was really surprised reading this article that it's considered a new coinage.

Nu-Folk

[edit]

Surely Freak Folk is the same genre as Nu-Folk. Perhaps these articles should be merged.

- I think this is completely wrong. am planning on contributing to re-write the categories as they are a mess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.194.186 (talk) 08:47, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Please do: references to nu-folk redirect here. They refer todifferent bands, different periods. Horrid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.168.6 (talk) 23:13, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is a mess

[edit]

will anyone, with some relative knowledge, please, make some effort? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.54.184.177 (talk) 21:19, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article has bad genre references

[edit]

Half-hearted attempt at Coining a new genre doesn't make it so. Will someone please clean this up! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.202.67.242 (talk) 17:39, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Psychedelic Folk

[edit]

I say we merge this article with the Psychedelic Folk and give it it's own section on that page Dekai Averett (talk) 13:25, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
